Every landlord dreads a call from them local gas company informing landlord that the gas is being turned off immediately due to a leak , and a City permit will be required before the gas company can turn the power back on. If the building is a mix of commercial and apartment uses and if gas lines are larger than normal, under a few inches of concrete this just makes the problem worse.
With more than 20 tenants and one laundromat depending upon gas service this was an instant calamity for us right before a 3 day weekend.
